August 15 – September 15 at a Glance

Southwest Missouri football quickly separated contenders from the pack. Nixa backed up its opening-week win with a 30-27 road win at Joplin and then a major Week 3 statement. Webb City reached 3-0 after surviving Ozark, Cassville also climbed to 3-0, Lamar kept its program-standard identity in focus, and Logan-Rogersville opened 2-0 by outscoring California and Ava 101-14 before its Week 3 test with Carl Junction.

The month was not only football. Galena fall baseball produced two featured wins, including a victory over Purdy for the first time in three years, while Ash Grove volleyball entered the spotlight behind a team-first message. The recruiting portal now includes 29 published athlete profiles, with 20 designated as featured athletes.

We feel like we accomplished a lot during our first month at Southwest Missouri Sports, and it is already clear that we have our finger on the pulse of sports across the region. We shifted gears on the news front and now have students and media programs from three different schools getting in on the action, with more on the way.

Our early partnership with the Ozarks Sports Dude has become a major part of what we are building. We also had our first meeting with JJ, who quickly proved to be the King of Brainstorming and added several major stops to our road map. As we approach one million views and 2,500 followers during our first month, we want to give a very loving thank-you to everyone who has supported us.
